Malvern junior Maddie Powers recorded her 1000th career point in a Friday night Hornets loss to Steubenville Catholic Central, 37-34.
Powers totaled 20 points to become the fourth 1000-point scorer in the Hornets girls’ program’s history, joining Kelsi Hulit (1,771), Sara Loomis (1,652) and Diane Lancashire (1,474).
However, the Crusaders picke dup the win on the back of Theresa Kerker’s 17 points, while Ellen Rohde added 10 points.
Malvern dropped to 11-11 to wrap up the regular season.
HARRISON CENTRAL 53, RIVER 39
Harrison Central bested River in a girls’ basketball contest on Friday night.
McKayla Dunkle posted 21 points and 12 rebounds for Central, who finished the regular season at 10-12.
Kelsey Harlan led River (13-6) at 18 points.
New Philadelphia nailed six 3-pointers in the first half of a 62-37 Quakers Friday night victory over Mansfield Senior High School.
New Philadelphia sophomore Colton Slaughter drilled five 3’s en route to a game-high 19 points for the Quakers, who improved to 14-5 for the season. Carter Vandall also added 14 points and seven rebounds for the Quakers, while fellow junior Michael Vickers had eight points.
The Tygers (4-12) were led in scoring by Maurice Ware (14 points), while Jakob Legron added 11 points.
FAIRLESS 53, TUSCARAWAS VALLEY 44
The Fairless Falcons took Friday’s non-conference basketball game from the Tusky Valley Trojans.
Brody Pumneo tallied 25 points for Fairless (8-11), while Tayler Buttermore added 16 points.
The Trojans (13-6) got 18 points from Logan Stotzer and 13 points from Silas Miller.
GARAWAY 54, TUSLAW 34
Drew Mullet scored a Pirates-high 16 points to lead Garaway to a non-conference Friday road win over Tuslaw.
Brady Roden added 12 points for the Bucs, who moved to 14-4 on the season.
The Mustangs were led by Nate Frascone’s 11 points.

Ridgewood moved 12-7 by rolling over Triway on Friday night.
Zander Stroup and Dalton Patterson each scored 11 points for the Generals, while Kauelen Smith added 10 points.
Kain Drown led Triway with 12 points.

Lexington picked up a big Ohio Cardinal Conference win on Friday night over West Holmes.
Baden Forup scored 17 points for Lexington, followed by efforts by Tyler Jackson (11 points) and Hudson Moore (10 points).
Mason Wolfe led the Knights with 17 points, along with Channer Wells’s 16 points.

The Canton South Wildcats improved to 11-9 overall and 6-6 in the Eastern Buckeye Conference with a Friday win at Carrollton.
The Warriors dropped to 4-15 (2-9 EBC).

Conotton Valley rolled over West Virginia-based Hundred in an Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Class 1A Consolation contest on Friday.

Tuscarawas Central Catholic’s boys bowlers topped Indian Valley on Friday at Cy Young Lanes.
Salvatore Fadorsen bowled a TCC-best 382 series, while Charlie Montan (352), Aaron Mercier (311), Deren Wright (289), and Marcus Clemence (287) added to the Saints’ total.
