The Canton Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is currently investigating a plane crash in a field near the intersection of Sherman Church Avenue SW and Riverdale Street SW in Bethlehem Township.

The incident, which transpired on Thursday, April 25, saw a delay in notification to the Ohio State Highway Patrol until 9:34 a.m. Friday morning.

Initial reports suggest that the aircraft experienced an equipment malfunction, prompting the pilot to execute an emergency landing in a nearby field. Although the pilot successfully landed the plane, a subsequent collision with a culvert occurred. The aircraft, under the operation of 75-year-old Glenn Davis from Gnadenhutten, sustained minor damages. Davis himself suffered minor injuries.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been informed and is en route to the location. The Stark County Sheriff’s Office Drone Team provided aerial surveillance support at the site.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
