Ariona Rutledge scored a goal in the 57th minute in Carrollton's 1-0 girls soccer win over Sandy Valley on Monday night in Magnolia.

Johanna Sieger recorded an assist on Rutledge's goal, while Warriors goalie Brianna Ohler had a shutout performance.

The Cardinals nearly tied the game with just over two minutes remaining as Nadie Perdew's kick past Ohler rolled just left of the left goal post.

Sandy goalie Morgan VanMeter saved six shots, despite taking the loss.
