The Inter Valley Conference is preparing for significant membership changes.

In a press release issued by the league’s principals, the IVC announced it is seeking schools interested in joining the conference beginning with the 2028–29 school year following recent developments affecting conference membership.

The announcement comes after Claymont, Sandy Valley and Tusky Valley revealed Friday, Feb. 13, that they intend to leave the conference to help form a new league with area programs. Those schools plan to align with Carrollton, Minerva and Marlington — currently members of the Eastern Buckeye Conference — along with Fairless and Tuslaw of the PAC-7.

Conference officials said the IVC will begin accepting formal letters of interest from potential member schools. Submissions are due by Monday, March 9, and should be sent to IVC president Rob Clarke at rob.clarke@ivschools.org.

The IVC currently operates under a two-division format.

The North Division includes Buckeye Trail, Conotton Valley, East Canton, Malvern, Newcomerstown, Strasburg and Tuscarawas Central Catholic.

The South Division is made up of Garaway, Hiland, Indian Valley and Ridgewood.

League officials said they hope to determine future membership well in advance of the 2028–29 school year in order to allow adequate time for scheduling and transition planning.
