Students at multiple Alliance City Schools buildings were temporarily evacuated Thursday after an anonymous robo-call threatened that there were “20 pipe bombs” outside Alliance High School, according to local law enforcement.
Lt. Christopher McCord said officers responded to Alliance High School after the threatening call was received Thursday morning. Police also responded to Rockhill Elementary School after an alarm was triggered and school officials were unable to immediately make contact with staff at the building.
School officials evacuated students while law enforcement officers conducted sweeps of the properties.
“Nothing was found, thankfully,” McCord said in a statement provided to Jordan Miller News.
McCord praised both school staff and students for remaining calm during the incident.
“The school staff, and especially the students, did a great job of staying calm and making everyone’s jobs easier, smoother, and safer,” he said.
Authorities said they are now investigating the source of the threats and will attempt to identify and hold those responsible accountable.
No injuries were reported, and classes later resumed following the investigation.
