Sobriety checkpoint set for Stark County Saturday night amid St. Paddy’s celebrations

Stark County Sheriff George T. Maier revealed that the Stark County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with other members of the OVI Task Force, will initiate sobriety checkpoints on Saturday, March 16. The checkpoints are scheduled to commence at 7 p.m. hours at the 4500 block of Whipple Ave. and at 9:30 hours at the 4400 block of Dressler Road, both situated in Jackson Township.

Sheriff Maier emphasized that law enforcement officers will administer roadside checks to assess drivers for signs of alcohol and drug impairment.

This sobriety checkpoint comes as many are set to go out this weekend to celebrate the St. Patrick’s Day weekend
