In the early hours of Wednesday at 1:27 a.m. on May 1, the Canton Fire Department responded to a call at 200 Lincoln Ave NW, discovering a structure fire in a two and a half story residential building.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered significant flames engulfing the front of the house. When entering the premises to combat the blaze, they came across the lifeless body of an adult male concealed behind the entrance.

The investigation unveiled clues suggesting the fire was intentionally ignited. Authorities urge individuals in possession of pertinent details to reach out to the Canton Fire Department at 330-649-5900 or the State Fire Marshall at 800-589-2728.

The identity of the male has not been publicly released yet pending family notification.
