In a significant development, the Columbiana County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday that they have made an arrest in connection with a cold case murder that occurred in Wayne Township back in 2010. The victim, 69-year-old William “Sonny” Young, had been brutally killed, leaving investigators puzzled for over a decade.

On November 16th, the Sheriff’s Office received a secret indictment, shedding new light on the long-standing investigation. Law enforcement authorities apprehended the suspect, 48-year-old Charles R. Bogart Jr., in a joint operation with the Beaver Township Police Department. Bogart, residing on Hazel Run Road in Hammonsville, Ohio, was taken into custody Friday morning on charges related to the murder of William “Sonny” Young.

Expressing gratitude for the collaboration that led to this arrest, Sheriff Brian S. McLaughlin lauded the efforts of the Columbiana County Prosecutor’s Office and the Beaver Township Police Department.
