The Minerva Chamber Rodeo is set to take place at Minerva’s Municipal Park on Saturday, July 15, promising a day filled with fun activities for the entire family.

Exciting children’s activities will kick off the event at 3 p.m. Families can enjoy pony rides, a delightful petting zoo, and engage in crafts such as stick-horse making, all conveniently located in the pavilion adjacent to the arena. In addition, a variety of food and commercial vendors will be present, offering a wide array of options to satisfy every palate.

Parents can sign their children up for the kids’ rodeo events, generously sponsored by Minerva Area Federal Credit Union and Minerva Rotary Club. The registration will take place in the pavilion starting at 3 p.m. The exhilarating stick-horse races, followed by the mutton busting preliminaries, will commence at 5 p.m. Mutton busting, a thrilling event, involves children weighing 50 pounds or less competing to see who can ride a sheep the longest. Helmets and vests will be provided for safety.

The main highlight of the evening will be the rodeo itself, presented by the renowned Buckeye Rodeo Company, starting at 7 p.m. Spectators will be treated to an action-packed show featuring a variety of events, including bull riding, generously sponsored by Minerva Area YMCA; bareback bronc riding, supported by NAPA Auto Parts/Minerva; saddle bronc riding, backed by Great Trail Golf Course; tie-down roping, presented by Kiko Company; team roping, supported by Huebner Chevrolet/Subaru; steer wrestling, sponsored by Gionino’s Pizzeria; barrel racing, presented by Creations by Faith; and breakaway roping, with support from Straight A’s Arena. Additionally, the finals of the mutton busting competition and the calf scramble for kids will captivate the audience.

Following the rodeo, the Minerva Firefighter’s Association will host a complimentary concert featuring country band Tony Rio and Relentless on the main stage at 9 p.m. As a further treat, the firefighter’s association will provide a beer garden throughout the day until 11 p.m.

Presale tickets for the event can be purchased until July 14 at various locations, including Kishman’s IGA in Minerva and Malvern, Loudon Motors Ford, Gionino’s Pizzeria in Minerva, the Minerva Area YMCA, Consumers National Bank – Minerva Branch, Huebner Chevrolet/Subaru in Carrollton, and the Minerva Area Chamber of Commerce. Online ticket sales are also available at minervarodeo23.eventbrite.com. Presale ticket prices are set at $12 for individuals aged 12 and above, $7 for children between the ages of 6 and 11, and free for children aged 5 and younger. At the gate, tickets will be priced at $15 for adults and $10 for children. Convenient parking will be available at Minerva High School, located at 501 Almeda Ave.
