The Stark County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shooting that took place on Monday, May 13, 2024, in Canton Township.
According to officials, deputies responded to the Meyers Lake Plaza in the 1500 block of Whipple Ave NW in Canton Township at approximately 3:00 p.m. on Monday, May 13, following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, deputies found a 23-year-old male victim who had been shot by an unknown suspect. The suspect is believed to have fled the area in a light blue or silver SUV in an unknown direction prior to the deputies’ arrival.
The victim received immediate aid from the Canton Township Fire Department at the scene and was transported to Aultman Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries for further medical treatment.
The incident remains under investigation, and authorities urge anyone with information to contact the Stark County Sheriff’s Office Detectives Bureau at (330)-430-3800 ext. 0.
