The Sandy Valley Cardinals are moving on the sectional baseball tournament.
Led by Nick Petro on the mound, the Cardinals defeated Bellaire 3-0 Monday evening at Sandy Valley.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the second inning when the Cardinals added a pair of runs to take a 2-0 lead. The third and final run was scored in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Petro earned the win, striking out 15 Bellaire batters for the Cardinals.
Sandy Valley will play host to Ridgewood in the sectional championship on Wednesday, May 15.
