Authorities are investigating after a man’s body was recovered from the Tuscarawas River on Monday afternoon in New Philadelphia.
Detective Capt. Adam Fisher of the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were notified shortly after 3 p.m. when a 911 caller reported that individuals had spotted a body floating downstream in the river near the skate park area.

The Tuscarawas County Coroner’s Office also responded and is assisting with the investigation.
Authorities said the deceased is a male believed to be in his mid-20s to early 30s. Fisher said there were no apparent signs of trauma observed at the scene.
