The Carrollton girls basketball team is going dancing!

The Lady Warriors punched their ticket to the regional tournament with a decisive 66-46 win over Steubenville Saturday afternoon, claiming the district title.

The Lady Warriors were in control from the opening tip, sprinting out to an 8-3 lead over the Big Red with a trip to the Sweet 16 in their sights.

Carrollton led 16-5 at the end of the first quarter and 28-17 at halftime.

The Lady Warriors kept their foot on the gas to start the second half, going on a 17-6 run within the first minutes of the contest.

Carrollton’s trip to the regional tournament is only the second in school history, the first since the 2015-16 season.

CHS senior Demi Leary, who is a 32% three-point shooter, started the game 3-for-3 from the three-point line. She finished the contest with 13 points.

Hillari Baker led the Lady Warriors scoring attack with 27 points. Kylie Ujcich added eight points.

Carrollton will play in the regional semifinal on Tuesday night at 8pm in Zanesville.
