The Akron Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident that involved a pedestrian and a car.
According to a release from the OSHP, a woman from Uniontown was driving a 2009 Lexus X350 northbound on South Arlington in the right lane when she struck a pedestrian who was walking near the edge of the roadway.
The pedestrian, identified as Robert Thomas Eugene Amell, 46, of Canton, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Summit County Medical Examiner.
The crash happened early Saturday morning at 12:17 a.m. along South Arlington north of East Warner Road.
No charges have been filed at this time against the driver of the vehicle.
