A discovery was made on Saturday morning when an individual contacted emergency services at 10:36 am, reporting the finding of a decomposed body near the intersection of north Orchard Road and Dover-Zoar Road. The location of the body was determined to be over an embankment off the side of the road, suggesting that it had been there for a significant period.
Deputies and detectives arrived at the scene and uncovered a partially skeletonized body. Due to the advanced state of decomposition, authorities believe the individual may be a female, although confirmation from the Coroner’s Office will be required.
The deceased was found wearing sweatpants, black shoes, and a lighter colored shirt. Investigators collected photographs and evidence before transferring the remains to the Cuyahoga County Coroner’s Office, as directed by Tuscarawas County Coroner, Dr. Jeff Cameron. There were no immediate signs of trauma detected on the body.
