A man who was initially just charged with felonious assault for allegedly shooting a Carroll County teen with a bow and arrow in September is now facing charges for attempted murder, according to a grand jury indictment.
It’s alleged that on Sept. 30, Michael Geckler, 20, of Massillon, purposely shot a 17 year-old friend in the back with a bow and arrow and repeatedly stabbed
the teen at a King Road residence.
In the 911 call, the woman told dispatchers that the teenager was shot in the chest. The teen could be heard in the background saying he was injured “everywhere.”
Throughout the course of the 911 call, dispatch told the woman to keep applying pressure to the wound.
The teen was hospitalized with serious injuries, but is now recovering at home.
Geckler entered a not guilty plea. Pre-trial in Carroll County Common Pleas Court is scheduled for Nov. 16 at 10am with Judge Michael Repella residing over the case.
