Second motorcycle crash victim from East Canton dies days after husband

In a sad development, a woman from East Canton has passed away days after a motorcycle accident in Summit County.

The accident happened in new Franklin on Tuesday, October 3. Joseph Kostka was the operator of the Harley Davidson motorcycle. He died at the hospital. His wife, Kathleen Kostka, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries at the time.

JMN has since learned that Kathleen has passed away, according to family.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, a Chevy Silverado pick-up truck went left of center to avoid rear-ending another Chevy Silverado that was slowing down for traffic ahead.

When the vehicle traveled across the center line, the driver struck a Harley Davidson motorcycle heading north on SR 93.
