In the aftermath of a disturbing shooting incident that left a 19-year-old male injured and a 7-year-old boy narrowly escaping death, law enforcement have made an arrest. Detectives from the Major Crimes Unit united in their relentless pursuit of justice.
Significant progress was made in the investigation Wednesday afternoon, when detectives acquired crucial information, propelling the case forward.
At approximately 4:00 p.m., officers converged on a residence in the 800 block of Raymond Street, located just a few blocks from the crime scene. Executing a search warrant, law enforcement conducted a thorough search of the premises.
During the search, the primary suspect, a 16-year-old male, was taken into custody without resistance. In an attempt to discard evidence, the suspect tossed a .45 caliber handgun out of his bedroom window, which was promptly recovered.
Following his arrest, the 16-year-old suspect was interviewed and subsequently charged with two counts of Felonious Assault and Tampering with Evidence. He was then transported to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Center.
Another arrest took place at the residence, as a 37-year-old woman was found to possess a second handgun in her bedroom. She has been charged with Having Weapons Under Disability.
In addition to the firearms, detectives also discovered further evidence at the scene, which will undergo thorough processing.
The investigation remains active and ongoing as law enforcement continues to pursue leads and gather information in this case.
