Two men were shot outside the D&K Bar & Pub in Akron Tuesday night, leaving one dead and the other injured. The incident occurred around 10:47 p.m. in the 1300 block of E Archwood Avenue.
According to the Akron Police Department, multiple officers responded to the shooting and found a 21-year-old male with apparent gunshot wounds. He was taken to Summa Health Akron City Hospital, where he is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Another victim, a 28-year-old male, was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle, but he later succumbed to his injuries. The names of the victims are being withheld at this time, pending notifications to their families.
Police investigators believe the suspects arrived in the bar’s parking lot and opened fire on the victims who were standing outside the bar. Detectives are working to identify the suspects involved in the shooting and to determine if there are any additional victims.
