A woman who was seven-months pregnant was seriously injured after being shot while in a vehicle Monday morning.
According to Canton Police Chief John Gabbard, the victim was riding passenger in a vehicle heading south on Shorb Ave N.W. That’s when police claim multiple shots were fired at the vehicle.
The pregnant woman was shot in the shoulder and self-transported to Aultman Hospital in serious condition. JMN is told both the woman and her unborn child are expected to make a full recovery.
Detectives believe Charles E. Turner III, 42, who has a Cleveland address, fired the rounds at the vehicle. An arrest warrant was obtained for Turner, charging him with Felonious Assault. He has not been arrested at this time.
Turner also has unrelated active warrants for Aggravated Robbery (F1) and Disrupting Public Services (F4). Turner is also being sought by the Adult Parole Authority for a parole violation.
