The Ohio State Highway Patrol and many other departments are on scene at the Indian River Juvenile Correctional Facility in Massillon for a “barricade incident.”
OSHP officials tell JMN it’s believed that juvenile inmates stole keys to the facility in an attempt to take over the juvenile detention center.
At this time, no injuries have been reported. Dispatch tells us this is “not a hostage situation.”
The investigation is ongoing. As details are released, we’ll provide updates.
