A 24-year-old man is in the Stark County Jail after being arrested by federal agents on multiple charges, including murder.

Javion Milan, 24, was wanted by authorities for an incident in the fall of 2021 that left his four-month old baby dead. EMS was first dispatched to the home in the 2900 block of Rem Circle NE in Canton for reports of a baby that was unresponsive on Aug. 31, 2021. The child was transported to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital where they died.

A warrant was issued for the arrest of Milan, who was identified as the child’s father. Milan was indicted by a grand jury and a warrant for his arrest was issued on Oct. 13, 2022.

Members with the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force located Milan outside of his workplace in Canton where he was arrested without incident.

He’s facing murder, felonious assault and endangering children charges.

“Members of the Canton Police Department, County Prosecutors Office and the Stark County Sheriff’s Office worked diligently over the past year to bring charges against this suspect. Crimes against children are always especially heinous and members of our task force will work to ensure that people who commit such crimes are removed from society,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott.
