Dover beat Ridgewood (25-19, 27-25, 23) in a Monday match at Dover High School.

Quiney Werntz scored a team-high 11 points and 27 assists for the Crimson Tornadoes, while Mackenzie Neininger led Dover in kills (11).

Dover improved to 1-1, while Ridgewood opened the year at 0-1.

CALDWELL 25-25-17-26, CONOTTON VALLEY 10-21-25-24

Caldwell handed Conotton Valley a season-opening loss in four sets on Monday night.

ASHLAND INVITATIONAL

The Garaway Pirates shot a school-record 310 team total to win Monday’s Ashland Invitational.

Sammi Miller shot a 74 to take co-medalist honors, while Brooklyn Numbers (76), Sydni Prysi (78), and Olivia Immel (82) also paced the Pirates. 

INDIAN VALLEY 207, RIDGEWOOD 210

Indian Valley edged Ridgewood by three strokes on Monday at River Greens.

Emily Jones had 48 for the Lady Braves, along with Aubrey Elliott’s 49.

Jacey Hess shot a 48 for the Generals.

BOYS GOLF

HILAND 158, GARAWAY 167

Hiland received a pair of 38s from Lucas Yoder and Nathan Kline, as the Hawks beat the Garaway Pirates in a Monday Inter-Valley Conference match at Black Gold.

Garaway was paced by Trace Gibson’s 38, as well as a 40 from Carter Miller. Caleb Meek (44) and Nick Maust (45) rounded out the Pirates’ scoring.

MINERVA 183, MARLINGTON 196

The Minerva Lions remained unbeaten in Eastern Buckeye Conference play with a Monday victory over Marlington.

The Lions (5-1, 5-0 EBC) were led by Wil Blackburn’s 42, while Parker Linkous (45), Deegan Cowden, and Tre Cameron (both 48) carded qualifying scores.

CARROLLTON 7, EAST LIVERPOOL 0

Carrollton’s girls soccer team remained unbeaten with a Monday blowout over East Liverpool.

Danielle Elson had a pair of goals for the Warriors (4-0), while Ariona Rutledge, Izzie Nuzzolillo, Chelsea Pesta, Lilliana Menarcheck, and Lexi Shockey each added a score.

East Liverpool dropped to 0-2.

Smithville bested Fairless in a Monday match.

Tusky Valley earned a non-conference opening win over Minerva.

Landon Burwell, Guiherme Ferreira, Colin Kuharich, and Eli Miller all scored a goal for T.V.

Silas Miller made nine saves for the Trojans.

Garret Ault and Jeremiah Smith each added a goal for the Lions (0-1).

Hiland’s boys soccer team improved to 2-0 with a Monday match win over Triway.
