Dover girls, New Philadelphia boys wins ECOL Championships; East Canton boys, Tusky Valley girls take IVC Track and Field titles

Dover’s girls and New Philadelphia’s boys track and field teams won the team titles at the East Central Ohio League Championships in Marietta on Friday night.

The Dover girls won 83-73 over Warren Local, with Marietta (65.5) and New Philadelphia (40.5) following.

For the Crimson Tornadoes, Ava Zobel won the 400 (26.50) and 800 (1:00.60), while Alyssa Feller earned victories in the 100 (16.06); and 300-meter hurdles (48.74). Morgan Karam (discus, 102-5) and Reis Johnson (pole vault, 10-0) also earned event wins for Dover.

For the Quaker boys, Chance Rennicker (200, 22.70) and Trevor Bean (400, 50.16) earned individual wins, along with Owen Brady (3200, 9:22.84) O’Rhen Martin (300 hurdles, 42.67), Evan McInturf (high jump, 20-10), and Kayden Schoelles (high jump, 5-10).

IVC TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIPS

At the Inter-Valley Conference Championships on Friday night in Newcomerstown, East Canton boys and Tuscarawas Valley girls won their respective overall league titles.

Strasburg’s girls won the North Division honors, while Garaway’s boys took the South Division.

Tusky Valley’s Hannah Wyler was named Female Athlete of the Year, while Claymont’s Alec Terakedia was named Male Athlete of the Year.

Wyler set new meet records in the 800-meter dash (2:20.34) and 4×400 relay (4:14.38).
