Monday’s Division II boys golf sectional tournament at River Greens was won by Carrollton High School, who posted a team total of 311.
The Warriors finished ahead of fellow advancing teams Garaway (2nd, 315), Sandy Valley (327), and John Glenn (333).
Carrollton’s top scorer was junior Colton Moore, who posted a 75 to go along with 77s from Jaxon Rinkes and John Birong. Cayden Rininger rounded out the Warriors’ scores with an 82, while Micah Barkan posted a 95.
The Pirates finished as runners-up as senior Charles Beachy shot a 73, and freshman Trace Gibson posted a 74. Carter Miller and Caleb Meek added 84s apiece for Garaway.
Sandy Valley’s top golfer, Connor Ritter, was tournament medalist after shooting a 67, while John Wood (81), Seth McCaulley (88), and Lucas Ellington (91) added qualifying scores for the Cardinals.
Noah Dever (77) led the Muskies in their district-qualifying performance, along with scores from Owen Van Fossen (81), Braden Rice (86), and Drew Johnson (89).
West Muskingum (5th, 350), Minerva (6th, 351), Indian Valley (7th, 358), Ridgewood (8th, 365), Philo (9th, 378), Steubenville (10th, 388), Morgan (11th, 431) rounded out full qualifying team totals.
Carrollton, Garaway, Sandy Valley, and John Glenn will advance to next Monday’s Division II district tournament at Eaglesticks Golf Club in Zanesville.
