Students were evacuated from Washington Elementary early Thursday morning after a work crew struck a gas line at the school in the Alliance area.
According to a statement sent to family of the students, the school was immediately evacuated and students were taken to an alternative site.
All children are safe and accounted for, thankfully. A plan was put in place with parents to pick up their child from an alternative site.
