The Canton Police are investigating a homicide that occurred over the weekend.
Police were dispatched to the 1200 block of 2nd St. SE for a reported shooting September 11 just before 2pm. Chief Jack Angelo says when officials arrived on scene, they located a man laying in tall grass in a nearby lot, unresponsive with a gunshot to his back.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 28-year-old Brenten Biggums, of Cleveland Ave.
The shooting remains under investigation.
