Dover's End of Summer Celebration will include a celebration of the city's Olympic pride - recent gold medalist swimmer Hunter Armstrong.

Armstrong will be honored on Sunday, Sept. 5 via a fire and police escort from Dover's downtown square to Dover City Park. Following a brief presentation, Armstrong will be available for pictures and autographs by Dover High School's swimming dunk tank.

Armstrong was part of the qualifying U.S. men's swim team in the men's 4x100-meter relay at the recent Summer Olympics in Tokyo. After the Americans won the final, Armstrong qualified to receive a gold medal along with preliminary teammates Andrew Wilson, Tom Shields, and Blake Pieroni.

Armstrong, a 2019 graduate of Dover High School, also competed individually in the men's 100-meter backstroke preliminaries, finishing ninth in the semifinal heat.
