A man has surrendered and charged with murder after allegedly shooting and killing Aaron Lucas.
Nichalous Harvey, 37, of Canton, is accused of shooting Lucas multiple times Sunday evening. He was found dead with gunshots to the face, neck and torso in a driveway in the 1000 block of 13th Street NW Sunday.
Lucas was the father of Ace and ArCel Lucas, the one-year-old twin boys who were shot last year while in their house July 22, 2020. ArCel survived the shooting but Ace passed away.
Mr. Lucas was a key witness in the fatal shooting and was set to testify against the man accused of killing his son. He was killed one day before the trial was scheduled to begin.
At this time, it’s unclear whether the murder of Lucas was an effort to prevent him from testifying.
Harvey has been charged with Murder and remains in jail on $1 million bond.
