UPDATE: Johanna has been located in Maryland and is reportedly safe, according to Uniontown PD. Her family is en route to pick her up.
Police in Uniontown are asking for the public’s help in locating a 33-year-old woman who has not been seen since early Tuesday morning and may be traveling with her abusive boyfriend.
Uniontown Police Chief Michael Batchik said officers were called to a home for a wellbeing check Tuesday morning after Johanna Smith’s father discovered several doors to her residence left open. Smith’s father told police he last spoke to her around 3 a.m. Tuesday. When he arrived at the home around 5 a.m., Smith and her boyfriend, identified as William “Billy” Wyszynski, were gone.

Investigators believe Smith and Wyszynski may be traveling in a smaller gold Honda with black rims. The pair was last tracked in Pennsylvania and may be moving toward the Maryland or Virginia area, according to police.
Smith’s cellphone was found discarded in a field, and there is a history of domestic violence calls involving the couple, Batchik said.
Police said they have not confirmed whether Smith was taken against her will but want to locate her to ensure she is safe.
Anyone who sees Smith, Wyszynski, or the vehicle is urged to call 911 or the Uniontown Police Department at 330-699-6444.
