Streetsboro schools were closed Monday after a city employee reported seeing a man carrying what appeared to be a long gun along a roadway.
Police said the sighting happened around 6 a.m. on state Route 303 near Kirby Lane. Officers responded within minutes but were unable to locate the man.
Out of caution, officials placed the bus garage on Annalane Drive on lockdown and canceled school for the day.
Police remain in the area conducting a grid search using available technology. Investigators are asking residents and businesses near Route 303 and Page Road to review security footage from 5 to 6:30 a.m. for any suspicious activity.
