A 26-year-old man is facing multiple charges after allegedly assaulting a waitress and two patrons at the Winking Lizard in Washington Square Plaza.
According to information provided by North Canton police to Jordan Miller News, the man was intoxicated and causing a disturbance at the restaurant when he allegedly pushed a waitress.
Police said a patron attempted to intervene, prompting the suspect to pick him up and slam him to the ground. The victim suffered a large bump on his head and was transported by medics to a hospital for further evaluation.
A second patron who attempted to intervene was allegedly kicked in the groin.
Officers responded to the restaurant and took the suspect into custody. Police said the man was uncooperative during the arrest, but officers were able to restrain him using open-hand control techniques.
The suspect later complained of injuries, including minor scrapes, and was transported to a local hospital for evaluation.
Police said the man is expected to face charges of felonious assault, assault, disorderly conduct while intoxicated and resisting arrest.
He will be formally charged and booked into the Stark County Jail once he is medically cleared, according to police.
The suspect’s identity has not been released.
