A driver was taken to the hospital Tuesday evening after her vehicle traveled through her garage and crashed into a neighboring home behind the property, officials said.
The Jackson Township Fire Department responded to the incident Galway Cir NW on March 10 after receiving reports of a vehicle that had traveled from a driveway, through an attached garage and into a neighboring residence, according to Fire Safety Inspector and Investigator Denny Tan.
Officials said the vehicle continued through the garage before striking the exterior wall of the neighboring home, where it came to rest.
People inside the home at the time of the crash were not injured.
Fire officials said there was no airbag deployment and no technical extrication was required to remove the driver from the vehicle.
The driver was transported to a local hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.
Both homes involved sustained structural damage, officials said, though the extent of the damage is still being assessed.
The incident remains under investigation.
