A Texas man wanted for murder was arrested Tuesday morning in Canton by members of the U.S. Marshals-led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.

Authorities arrested Tion Green, 20, who was wanted by police in Killeen, Texas, in connection with a fatal shooting last year.

According to the Killeen Police Department, officers responding to the sound of gunfire on Sept. 22, 2024, while on another call discovered Dirkshawn Bryan, 23, suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators later identified Green as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant in January 2025.

U.S. Marshals in Texas later determined Green had fled the state and was believed to be in the Akron area. He was featured as the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s “Fugitive of the Week” in late February, and authorities received numerous tips about his whereabouts.

Members of the Akron and Canton teams of the task force located Green at a home in the 1200 block of Lippert Road NE in Canton Tuesday morning.

Authorities said Green attempted to barricade a door when officers made contact with him but was taken into custody without further incident.

Green will remain in custody in Ohio until he can be extradited to Texas to face the charges.

“This fugitive was on the run for a long time, but like all of our cases, the U.S. Marshals Service never gives up until they catch their fugitive, no matter how far they run,” U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott said.
