A 36-year-old East Canton man died Tuesday night following a single-vehicle crash in Stark County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
Troopers said the crash occurred around 10 p.m. on Berger Street NE, just north of Orchardview Drive SE in Osnaburg Township.
Investigators said Michael E. Bailey was driving a white 2020 Ford Explorer northbound on Berger Street when the SUV traveled off the right side of the roadway. The vehicle struck a utility pole and overturned multiple times before coming to rest in the roadway.
Bailey was transported by Osnaburg Township EMS to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities said Bailey was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Alcohol is believed to have been a factor, though the crash remains under investigation.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Osnaburg Township EMS, the Canton Street Department, American Electric Power and Spencer’s Towing.
