A Canton police officer died Monday morning following a crash on his way to work, according to the Canton Police Department.
Lt. Dennis Garren said the crash happened around 6:53 a.m. Monday, Nov. 10, in the 800 block of Cherry Avenue SE. The officer was taken to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. He was in his personal vehicle at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
