A Carrollton man was killed Thursday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash in Carroll County, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the crash happened around 3:27 p.m. Nov. 20 on state Route 524, just south of Avon Road in Fox Township.

The patrol said Gregory R. Sivets, 53, was driving a 2020 Ford F-150 southeast on SR 524 when the truck traveled off the left side of the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle then crossed both lanes, went off the right side of the road and hit a sign, mailbox and railroad tracks before coming to rest in a private driveway.

Sivets was pronounced dead at the scene by Carroll County Coroner Dr. Mandel B. Haas.

Troopers said they were assisted by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Bergholz EMS, the Fox Township Fire Department, Keith’s Towing and the Carroll County Coroner’s Office.

The crash remains under investigation.
