A four-year-old girl is dead after drowning at a home in the 800 block of Independence Ave in Akron Saturday evening.
Akron Police say officers and EMS were dispatched to the home for a drowning involving a small child.
When they arrived, the child was found unconscious and not breathing. She later died at Akron Children’s Hospital.
Detectives learned that people were in and out of the above ground pool, including the victim. At some point, the child was later found in the water unresponsive and lifesaving measures were taken until EMS arrived.
