A 23-year-old Akron man has been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Jackson Township strip club earlier this week, police said Tuesday.
Jackson Township Police confirmed detectives obtained arrest warrants Dec. 9 for Donald Lamonte Brown, who resides in Akron. The warrants stem from a shooting reported around 3:14 a.m. Dec. 8 at Diamond Royale, located at 4675 Munson St. NW.
Police said officers responding to the scene found a 25-year-old man who had been shot once. The victim was taken by the Jackson Township Fire Department to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Medical Center, where he was treated for his injuries.
Investigators said the shooter had left the scene before officers arrived. Brown was later identified as the suspect.
Brown was arrested and booked into the Stark County Jail on charges of felonious assault, a second-degree felony, and possession of a firearm in a liquor permit premises, a third-degree felony.
Police said Brown is cooperating with the investigation.
Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the community, and no additional information is expected to be released at this time as the investigation continues.
