A 21-year-old Canton man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly making an in-person threat to “shoot up” a Perry Township plasma donation center, prompting a lockdown and a multi-agency search, police said.

Officers with the Perry Township Police Department responded around 9:43 a.m. to Octapharma Plasma at 4510 Tuscarawas St. W. after receiving reports that a man inside the business had made the threat, according to a department media release.

When officers attempted to make contact, the suspect fled on foot, leading officers into the West Manor allotment, police said.

Additional officers responded to help contain the area, and the Canton Police Department’s K-9 unit was called in because of the seriousness of the alleged threat and the active search.

As the search continued, investigators developed information that led officers to a residence on Homewood Avenue in Canton. At the same time, Canton Police K-9 Orrey and his handler were tracking the suspect on foot toward the home.

An officer in the area located the suspect, identified as Jameson A. Clark, 21, of Canton, and took him into custody without incident.

Police said no weapon was found on Clark. A reason for the alleged threat has not been released.

Clark is charged with inducing panic, aggravated menacing, obstructing official business, making terrorist threats, resisting arrest and failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer.

The Perry Township Police Department thanked the Canton Police Department, STARCOM and CANCOM Dispatch for their assistance in the response.
