On the early morning of April 18, just prior to 3 a.m., the Canton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at 1005 Sherlock Pl NE, involving a two-and-a-half-story residential building.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered flames emanating from the attic windows and the ridgeline of the roof.
Swift action by the crews led to the prompt extinguishing of the fire, albeit resulting in substantial damage to the residence, which was undergoing renovation and unoccupied during the incident.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported among firefighters or civilians.
