(Update: Power was restored to the village overnight.)
A number of residents throughout Carrollton are without power following a fire in the village.
According to Carrollton Fire Chief Shane Thomas, a transformer caught fire on East Main Street Thursday evening. The transformer fire caused many residents to lose power.
Crews are working to resolve the issue. Thomas told JMN, power should be restored within a few hours if all goes as planned.
The power in the Village of Carrollton is out due to a transformer fire. AEP crews are working to restore power as soon as possible. Please be patient and use 911 for emergencies only.
