A man has been convicted of a murder that occurred in Canton earlier this year.
Jamaari Harper has been found guilty of murder in the February 2023 shooting of Garry Marx, Jr.
Harper was convicted on charges of murder with a firearm specification, felonious assault (F2) with a firearm specification, and aggravated robbery (F1) with a firearm specification.
“As the Stark County Prosecuting Attorney, it was an honor to pursue justice on behalf of Garry Marx, Jr. alongside our Criminal Chief Dennis Barr.” said Prosecutor Kyle L. Stone. “It is our goal, that here in Stark County, anyone that takes a life will be held accountable for their actions.”
The sentencing for Harper is set for Friday, October 27th, to be determined by Stark County Common Pleas Judge Kristin Farmer.
