Akron police and fire officials have announced that they located a second body in a home in Akron following reports of a shooting and fire Monday night.
Local authorities responded to reports of both a structure fire and gunshots at a residence in the 500 block of Lansing Road. Akron Police and Akron Fire converged on the scene, met with an active fire.
As officers approached the residence, they discovered an unresponsive adult female lying in the driveway, bearing a gunshot wound. She was already dead, according to officials. The victims identity has not been released at this time.
Officials gained entry to the house, and located the body of a deceased 38-year-old male in the basement. Initial reports suggests that he had died due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Detectives believe the incident may have resulted from a murder-suicide.
