Suspect apprehended after attempting to steal golf cart

Lawrence Township Police responded to a call received on Monday evening reporting an individual’s attempted theft of a golf cart at Clays Park.

Security personnel at the park had pursued the suspect, but he managed to elude capture and sustained injuries during his escape. The suspect was identified as Adam Boylen.

Officers within the park were informed that Boylen was seen limping and was wrapped in a beach towel, potentially seeking shelter within the Melody Barn area.

Upon thorough search efforts, officers located and apprehended Boylen without any resistance.

Boylen received medical treatment at a local hospital before being booked into Stark County Jail.

Boylen faces multiple charges, including Motor Vehicle Theft (F4), Breaking and Entering (F5), and two counts of Criminal Damaging (M2).

In the wake of this incident, Lawrence Township Police are actively seeking the recovery of the stolen golf carts, as a total of eight carts remain missing.
