Emergency services were dispatched to a residence in the 700 block of Moraine Avenue in Akron at approximately 7:36 p.m. Wednesday evening in response to an unresponsive 6-year-old male child.
The child’s parents were present at the scene and had initiated CPR before the arrival of emergency medical services (EMS), who took over life-saving efforts.
Despite their attempts, the child’s condition did not improve, and he was transported to Akron Children’s Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
To shed light on the cause of the child’s passing, the Summit County Medical Examiner’s Office will be conducting an autopsy. At this time, the identity of the child is being withheld.
Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the child’s death.
