Canton Local School Board Member Scott Hamilton is facing another theft charge, his second such charge this year.

Hamilton is accused of taking down campaign-style signs that ask for his resignation from the board.

The sheriff’s office indicates it happened on Friday in the city of Canton and the township. When confronted by law enforcement, sources tell us Hamilton admitted to stealing them. He was caught on video stealing one of the signs.

It’s a misdemeanor charge, but he is on probation for a previous theft conviction from the Massillon Tractor Supply in June.

At the time of Hamilton’s conviction over the summer, he was serving as the school board president. He then stepped down from the president position, but remained on the school board.
