The Louisville Police Department needs your help locating two people who are accused of stealing a city fire hydrant.

Police shared video captured by a nearby Ring camera that shows a man and a woman working together to load a red fire hydrant into the trunk of a car along Baier Ave in Louisville. It’s unclear when the fire hydrant was stolen.

In the video, you can see the couple struggle to lift the heavy fire hydrant into the vehicle’s trunk. According to reference.com, a fire hydrant weights a minimum of 500 pounds.

“How do you steal a fire hydrant?!” read a comment of the Louisville Police Department’s Facebook post.

Anyone who knows about the theft is asked to contact detective John Pilla at 330-875-2871 or e-mail him at [email protected].
