HS Basketball Tuesday: Tusky Valley rallies vs Akron East; Hiland, Indian Valley, New Philadelphia, Strasburg nab wins

Tusky Valley overcame a 29-20 halftime deficit to win, 51-47, over Akron East High School on Tuesday night in Zoarville.

The Trojans got a huge second half from senior Logan Stotzer, who scored 11 3rd quarter points en route to a 28-point performance to lead T.V.

Tusky juniors Cody Robinson (12 points) and Silas Miller (10) also contributed to the Trojan victory.

The Dragons (1-2) were led in scoring by senior Eric Holley, who totaled 13 points in the loss. Luther Darrisaw and La’Grand Sowell each added six points for East.

NEW PHILADELPHIA 47, JOHN GLENN 46

The Quakers edged John Glenn in a road matchup.

Carter Vandall scored 22 points and Michael Vickers added 10.

Avery Parmer led the Muskies with 18 points.

INDIAN VALLEY 62, MAYSVILLE 52

Indian Valley head coach Tyrone Miller picked up his first victory with the Braves in a 10-point win over Maysville.

STRASBURG 64, NEWCOMERSTOWN 24

Strasburg moved to 2-0 with a 40-point win over Newcomerstown.

Elijah Fierbaugh scored 14 points, while Andrew Harvey had 13 points and Dylan Weaver posted 12.

The Trojans (0-2) got seven points apiece from Trenton Newkirk and Brandon Wilson.

HILAND 74, NORTHWEST 60

The Hiland Hawks picked up their first win of the year over Northwest on Tuesday night.

Sammy Detweiler scored 23 points and Dylan Weaver posted 12 for the Hawks.

Northwest had double-digit scorers in Alex Ciolek (19 points) and Brett Alberts (18).

CONOTTON VALLEY 65, BEALLSVILLE 44

Jeremy Ady also picked up his first coaching win in the Conotton Valley Rockets’ 21-point win over Beallsville on Tuesday.

The Rockets led 31-11 at halftime.

CANTON CENTRAL CATHOLIC 68, CARROLLTON 46

The Crusaders won handily over the Warriors on Tuesday night.
