The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released their Thanksgiving weekend accident numbers. The report said 13 people died over the five-day period from Wednesday, Nov. 24 at midnight through late Sunday evening.
The OSHP release said 13 people were killed in Ohio accidents in 10 fatal crashes. One of the deceased was a pedestrian, four were not wearing seat belts and three of the fatal crashes involved impaired driving.
300 people were arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired.
According to the statewide report, 18 people died in traffic accidents in 2019 over the same weekend compared to 11 who died in 2020.
